Solid Waste
The new county garbage and recycling trucks are automated. All your garbage must fit inside the green county can with the lid closed (Monday pickup). All your recycling must fit inside the blue county can with the lid closed (Tuesday pickup).
The truck for bulk items (Tuesday pickup) is not automated, however you are limited to three cubic yards (about one small pickup truckload) per household per week. Anything more than that must be taken to the landfill, which is open every day.

UPDATE: The county no longer requires you to schedule bulk item pickup, simply put your items out Monday night for pickup on Tuesday. Bulk items left at the curb on any day other than Mon or Tue will receive HOA violation.

Yard Waste
Loose yard waste will not be picked up. Yard waste must be bagged, bundled or containerized and should be limited to 3 cubic yards per week. Yard waste collection is Tuesday, do not place at curb (or anywhere outside) prior to Monday. The HOA has been far too lenient on this topic, and the result has been yard waste left curbside for weeks at a time. HOA fines will be issued.
If you receive a violation sticker/flyer on your solid/yard waste please remove the items from the curb immediately. To avoid a fine you must take one of the following actions.

- Bring items to the landfill
- Put items in garage (or behind fence if you have one) until day before pickup day

County Garbage/Recycle Cans
Typically HOAs do not allow the county cans to be stored outside. However, these county cans (green and blue lid) are extremely large and may be difficult to fit in the garage. And since the county requires these large cans it doesn't seem fair for the HOA to require them to be stored in the garage. Therefore the HOA will allow these county cans to be stored outside, and since everyone has the same cans there is uniformity just like our fences. As a compromise, all old personal garbage cans and the old county recycle bins (green/orange) must be removed. These old containers can be used for yard waste on specified days, but may NEVER be stored outside. The following rules still apply.
- Cans must be upright, clean and must not be painted
- Lids for county cans must be closed at all times, otherwise animals/birds will make a mess of things. If you cannot close the lid you must move the can into your garage/behind your fence, or remove some items and make a trip to the landfill.
- Do not put cans on townhome grass/landscaping areas or in the breezeway
- Single Family homes are encouraged to install pavers next to their garage to eliminate dead spots

- Any county cans left outside may be used by the Litter Committee to help keep our community clean.
Clutter
Do not leave clutter outside. For single family homes this applies to the front and side of the house, for townhomes this applies to all sides and the breezeway. The townhome breezeway is shared so please be courteous to your breezeway neighbor by keeping that area free of clutter (this is also a safety issue).
Clutter includes (but is not limited to) the following: lumber, brick, stone, cinder block, concrete, scaffolding, mechanical devices, pallets, ladders, buckets, gas/oil containers, funnels, rags, tires, jacks, tools, spare parts, mowers, blowers, edgers, lawn care containers, bags, toys, bicycles, clothing, towels, cleaning products, etc.
